Focus on Success

It took so long for me to write again and I really missed it that I couldn't stand sitting here without sharing anything to inspire others. Gone are those days when all I have to do is relax and enjoy the holiday season and not think of anything about being productive. Our last case presentation, which is the last one for this school semester is already done last week and it was a successful one. In regard to that, I remember what I said about writing the continuation of our Seniors' Presentation guest speaker Dr. Nestor Rillumas' speech about SUCCESS. Well, here it is as I have promised, his message to the graduating seniors on how to focus on success.

"Seniors, I would like to congratulate you for making it this far. Three months from now, you'll be marching on that aisle together with your parents. With 99 of you, I don't want any one of you being left behind and would not make it because of some particular reasons that could have not been happened. I am very much optimistic that you will all make it to your graduation day and you will all be successful in all of your chosen endeavors. And so, in regard to that, I would like to share to you 10 ways to help your mind focus on your upcoming success. Here are they…"

1. "Have a strong determination to persevere, finish your course by the grace of God."

2. "Have faith. It's only few months to go and if ever problems come your way, say to yourself that nobody can stop you from marching."

3. "Set aside deserting circumstances like love, lust, vices, and anything that can defer you from your focus. Control your sexual appetite."

4. Avoid habits of:
Procrastination- "In the street of by and by one arrives at the house of never."
Mediocrity- "No monument is built for mediocre person."
Self-pity- "Don't let failing moments make you down."
Lack of faith- one of strongest factor why you're not going to graduate."

5. "Involve others in climbing success, consult parents, friends, colleagues, and mentors."

6. "Review the traffic signs when making decisions, do not always GO, always SLOW DOWN, STOP and count the cost."

7. "Don’t fail. To fail is disastrous to you and to your family. For the sake of your loved-ones, even if you don't love yourself, PLEASE GRADUATE."

8. "Admire and read the writings of Ellen G. White. Listen to God's little voice in your heart."

9. "Listen to your counsels and family."

10. "Pray for wisdom, ask for blessings and future will be bright."

Those are simple yet powerful statements from a man who learned a lot through practice and experience. Some of the things he said are hard to eliminate and most of it takes practice to muster all, but as what he said, we should HAVE FAITH..! For all graduating seniors, we should keep up the good work and always remember the first and last thing he said which is, "finish our course by the grace and pray for wisdom, ask for blessings so our future will be bright". Good luck and God bless to all of us! :D
